MORIARTY: "PLEASANT SURPRISES" COMING

In an interview published in the last day or so, Bob talks about some "pleasant surprises" coming our way. Here's the context.

Keep in mind that thre are TWO circuits going on at Novo's new mill, the gravity circuit and the cyanide circuit. The surprise is that about HALF the gold being recovered is being recovered on the FRONT end in the gravity circuit - the flakes and watermelon seeds are being recovered up front in the gravity circuit, which is good in an of itself - but it also makes the cyanide (I think this is also referred to as the "leaching" circuit) more efficient. My interpretation is that it will also make it so Novo can run MORE ORE VOLUME through the mill at any one time.

So, if I had to pick the word of the day, it would be "efficiency".

I wonder what after-hours "TA" will say about this.

Well Ron, One of the key things that Novo did when refurbishing the Millennium Mill was to add some processing kit which improved the capability of the gravity circuit. The gold recovered by the gravity circuit (on which work had been carried out and reported on  previously)  has the recovery of gold at 70% (even more than the 50% quoted by  Bob Moriarty,) A good question to pose ...more

MICKEY: " ..... whether the high recovery of gold from the gravity circuit will increase yields (already quoted at 90% plus) and the capacity for ore throughput." Mickey, maybe I misheard or it's just my interpretation, but I think Bob Moriarty was pretty clear about this specific issue - the high recovery up front in the gravity circuit phase will indeed increase throughput ...more

Good, Bob confirmed it. Retain that.

Hi Murple Purple, I'm very encouraged by what Bob M had to say. I've had similar thoughts myself. I can't quite fathom out why throughput of ore/overall yields are increased. SM

SM, I think it may be faster recovery so more tonnage.

BM: "If you reduce the total gold input to a cyanide system, it processes faster. I'm going to take a total stab and suggest an increase of 20% "might" be possible. You put 20% more material through. And I will say, collecting 50% of the total gold through gravity is a giant home run for a lot of reasons. Gravity is cheap."

@fingerprint42 (BM)  Fabrix72: I am in writing and quite comfortable with saying I believe they will produce 125,000 to 150,000 ounces a year once in stable operation at a cost of $800 to $900. I'm real sure those are what I have said in the past and I'm comfortable with. I want to add one comment to the excellent research from lucbucker. By the time the slurry is reaching the fifth ...more

Yes... you are the man Bob - thank you for sharing your insights over the eyars on Novo Resources! WHAT A TERRIFIC BOOK, "What became of the Crow?"... You mentioned a follow up - I CAN'T WAIT! Trolls like the Harmonsky Nerd and Fat-Arste Buccaneer Boy are drowning in their stupidity and ignorance. They are know-nothing circus clown comedian.

Hi Wise Guy and BM, Thanks for that. I can now understand why there is strong potential to increase gold output, if the capacity of the CIL process is related to gold content remaining,  rather than the quantity of partially processed ore  passing through. SM
