Question about: Reverse circulation drilling

"Novo is conducting grade control and resource upgrade reverse circulation drilling across the Beatons Creek deposit. Drill samples are collected on half-metre intervals"

A half-metre is a little more than every 1 1/2 foot. Don't know what diameter the reverse drill is, but I first visualized drilling across the Beatons Creek deposit leaving holes spaced like in a door screen. Then it occurred to me that the half-metre intervals must be measured down the drill hole.

I learn a lot following Novo.

The YouTube link demonstrates how one reverse circulation drill operates. Seems instead of a drill core, drill chips are produced.

Do I understand correctly that the half-metre intervals is the distance between chip samples taken down the drill hole?

Yes, that is the down-hole interval.

Thank you ValuePro for your confirmation. I'll never be an expert and appreciate having this board's participants to seek answers. Novo's April 29, 2021 update describes reverse circulation drilling at 20 x 20m spacing with infill grade control at 10 x 10m spacing. I understand this to be what is across the Beatons Creek deposit. Drill samples are collected on half-metre intervals ...more

"With resource near surface, I wonder how deep these holes must be drilled." I'm no expert either, but it seems to me that the answer is in your first question, where you point out that they are "conducting grade control and resource upgrade drilling".  It seems to me that they have to drill through the known layers of mineralization.  Isn't that five in all? ...more
