https://www.stockwatch.com/News/Item/Z-C!TELE-3260623/C/TELE Telecure Technologies Inc. has filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of British Columbia over an on-line posting that accused the company's management of being part of a "notorious fraud ring" run from Vancouver. The company claims that the information is untrue and defamatory, and has caused serious damage to its reputation. It is seeking damages and the court-ordered removal of the material.
The allegations are contained in a notice of claim that Telecure filed at the Vancouver courthouse on May 19, 2022. The defendants are a group of shareholders and former directors. The suit names them as Florida businessman Adnan Malik, Pakistani resident Muhammad Kashif Akram and Florida physician Muhammad Shaukat. Also named is an Icelandic company that hosts the material, 1984 ehf.
The case centres around a message that appeared on-line on May 10, 2022, titled "Safeguard investors from microcap fraudsters." The message, as quoted in the lawsuit, referred to individuals in Vancouver who had taken advantage of foreign investors to run pump-and-dump schemes. It went on to explain how a group of U.S. entrepreneurs had become the victims of such a scheme.
