This is interesting....

Saudi probably want to sell this stock....and then they will slow north american production down.

Saudi Arabia’s oil giant Aramco is dusting off plans to sell more of its shares, aiming for a $50-billion share sale on the domestic stock exchange with a possible secondary listing abroad, in what could be the world’s biggest share sale ever, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, quoting sources with knowledge of Aramco’s plans.

At the end of 2019, it was Saudi Aramco that set the record for the world’s largest initial public offering (IPO), when it sold 1.7 percent in the company and raised $29.4 billion in the share sale on the Saudi stock exchange, Tadawul.

Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company by production and market capitalization, made its debut on the Saudi stock exchange in December 2019. Saudi Arabia’s state oil giant had priced its IPO at the top end of the range—32 Saudi riyals ($8.53), which made the share listing the largest in history, surpassing the US$25-billion IPO of Alibaba on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014.

Now, according to the Journal’s sources, Saudi Aramco has resumed talks about a fresh share sale on Tadawul and possibly a secondary one outside Saudi Arabia, possibly in London, Singapore, or other markets.

Aramco executives have held talks internally and with third-party advisers about the potential new share sale, the Journal reports. Plans are at an early stage and they could change or a listing could still be delayed, according to WSJ’s sources.

Aramco plans more share offerings to the public in coming years, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said in early 2021. The prince, however, did not give any details either about the timing of the new share sales or on which markets those sales could take place.

In April 2021, the Crown Prince said that the government of Saudi Arabia was negotiating the sale of a 1-percent stake in Aramco to a “leading global energy company.”

And then as a favour for the investment banks for gassing the heck out of oil... Watch goldman or Jp morgan get investment bank fees for sellin Aramco shares. The really loser in this is gong to be consumers and ulitmately north american producers.

I personally am not going to short oil right now...as Saudi will want 85 plus oil to sell this share issue. But after thay yikes.  OPEC cant have Canada and the USA just wind out oil prodction growth. Really Jan - March is only time north american oil production will be low enough that they can f*ck around. What company cant grow production while also giving share holder returns.

OBE would be 13-14 dollars right now...if investors really believed in May oil is going to be 90 bucks.

Kavern, did you sell all your OBE? have you nibbled on YGR yet?
Comment by kavern23 on Feb 04, 2022 1:01pm
YGR is only thing I have right now as it should be sheltered fairly well if the energy market turns South for abit. Hoping YGR's tight sharestructure, low operatin costs....and some very high potential wells can hold share price if a drop comes. Small caps like YGR sometiems are the best place to be when a storm arrives. YGR didnt get the lift other stocks have had...but the downside prob ...more

i hope you made some great loot with OBE...i am a bit disappointed that you are currently out of OBE but you must have your reasons. I respect it.  You, JBond, and Kramerkarma are beasts in the oil/gas industry. Been followiing all 3 of you for awhile.   Please keep posting on OBE board and let me know when you reposition yourself in OBE.   I like the debate among you 3 ...more

And as soon as Pierre Poilievre runs for Prime Minster...he will have a donation coming from me as well to his campaign. Rumour my contacts have told me is he will announce a leadership bid in next few days. Pierre is exactly the leader our Canadian Energy Industry needs to prosper in the future.

Pierre is as cunning as Trudeau. He won't run until he knows he can win - the future election that is (ie the probably of a win is on his side). Now may or may not be that time. If Pierre were to become the new conservative party leader, Trudeau may counter by calling another snap election to try and defeat him before he can estabish a party leadership track record.   Its hard to ...more
