I guess because we were hedged 50% for March?  But April is nill and I think that contract rolls over any day now...

Some shorts at work lately too based on the short interest numbers.  TSX March 15th numbers should come out tonight.  Lets see if they pressed

They need to get the financing behind them.  Is that what is holding us back?   Market is looking for some certainty here I think

Why  is  the  shares of  this  company lagging ? Pure  and simple :Lack of marketing ; i.e. selling the company to people that buy stock !  This is done by brokers , Seeking Alpha articles and the like, Institutional Road shows ,  I.R. activity  ,  Paid for  reports , webinars ,  etc,  etc.

At   Surge   Paul  C.   is marketing hard  , which  IMO  might   result  in  the  share price of SGY surpass  that  of OBE over time. Josh  Young  has done wonders for Journey  as  he covers off both Cdn. and US investors.  IPO have used paid for 3rd party providers + domestic brokers.

The Share price of SGY will take a sudden abrupt halt when it announces its Mark to Market hedging losses when it reports Q1 numbers.  Not as bad as say, BTE, or CPG or BNE, but it will take a hit, and no marketing in the world will stop investors from seeing $40 x 3,000 x 365 = 1/4 of SGY's FCF for the entire year (which will be realized over the course of 2022) vs nil going forward for

OBEs hedging competence has them far better positioned than their competitors  However if you are a day trader and you see oil move higher you buy the others like BTE or CPG because you can get in and out fast.    You buy and sell because the other day traders are doing the same  Longer tern investors pick OBE.    They tend not to be triggered by daily oil price

Not much to worry about at today's oil price. OBE has had huge gains and doing a little consolidating latley and the energy always volatile at best. When stocks are making high percentage swings daily they should be traded imo. Haved done very well tading OBE, VET, BTU, AAV and TOU lately. I own a few other energy names as well and just swap them out to take advantage of of disconnection in
