Note that Bloomberg leaked on August 3rd that GBT might be acquired sending price a share to 48.50$. Pfizer's winning bid was $68.50 2 days later. So they happen rather quickly. I saw the article and almost grabbed some shares around $48.50 but decided against it. Also there are not always leaks like this either and sometimes it sends the stock too high on spec with final offer being lower as well. Cheers!!!!!!!

I think bidding war between Roche and Pfizer is quite likely. The GBT process took over 3 months so for all we know it may have already started behind the scenes. I think Roche will come in with first bid but will want to see a bit more data. Pfizer won't have all the Breast cancer data until next year but they obviously know about Roches awesome pancreatic data so it's a chess game the

I am thinking that pfizer basically has all the info they need as all of the patients except the last one have been in for the 16 week follow up and it is all in real time and available for all the companies to see.
