VANCOUVER, BC, Dec. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire/ - Pan American Silver Corp. (NASDAQ: PAAS) (TSX: PAAS) ("Pan American Silver") reports that, on December 20, 2021, the executive of the Province of Chubut in Argentina issued a decree to the legislature to repeal the legislative bill passed on December 15, 2021 that would have modified the provincial mining law to allow permitting of open pit mining in certain zones in the Departments of Gastre and Telsen.

Pan American Silver owns 100% of the large Navidad silver project, which is located in the north central part of the province. Pan American Silver believes that properly permitted and regulated mining activity with sustainable mining practices, both environmental and social, could benefit the people of Chubut.

stockpunter, "Issued a decree." Yes, I remember when Navidad was first rejected, almost 10 years ago. It was frustrating to read and patiently wait for the process to "work". It never did work in paas' favour.. This latest projected approval and then rejection by mob and by decree is reminiscent of those times. I was surprised to see paas continue to rise yesterday. I

I thought the same and bailed on January calls.  Peace of mind, I suppose, is worth something.  Do we know who the mob is?  They were organized and ready to launch so quickly.  Must be some politics, or unpaid "fees" to someone?  The deposit is certainly far from the capital city, and the workers from the neighboring villages would benefit and probably not suffer

The site is between Gastre and Gan Gan, two villages of 500 and 600 persons.  Each about 45 km or an hour from the site.  High desert 1200 metres up, cold. 400 km, 8 hours drive from the riots in Rawson.  Closer to the Chilean border than to the provincial capital.  Boy, if we only had such devoted "environmentalists" here, all our troubles would be solved! ;) Geez
