this is exactly WHY Goldboro LNG is needed...

good read..see below.

"Despite a strong rebound in European natural gas demand, Russia’s gas giant Gazprom has not booked additional entry capacity to Europe via Ukraine—a move that Ukraine’s gas transmission system operator described as “blackmail.”
The Russian gas giant is looking to push European gas prices even higher by deliberately withholding supply, Sergiy Makogon, the chief executive officer of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, told FT, noting that the recent jump in prices is “an artificially created problem.”

NAT GAS north of $10 mcf right now in europe.surely there has to be a deep pocketed partner..maybe says something more about PEA or more importantly investing in CANADA??? European gas prices vaulted to record highs this summer, driven by factors ranging from low inventories and outages to an Asian buying spree, and signalling further rises in coming months that could mean higher household ...more

Sorensen just did a long interview with Guysborough Journal. Subscription only, and the whole issue is 24MB. Among other things he said the EPC price was 26% over comparable plants on Gulf Coast. There's your nail in coffin. (There were others.) So stop you all whining about how Canad isnt the right environment, doesnt support, etc, blah, blah.

You all go on faith that throwing billions at these losers is going to benefit us in Canada, even in the long run. Lets see some proof. They have as difficult rules for building pipelines in the US. They just get to locate the plants where the supply and pipelines are already ...more

Just for the record: I doubt carbon tax would survive in the u.s for more that 2-4 years.  Carbon tax will increase inflation (by quite a bit both directly and indirectly) and will   create an arbitrage of manufacturing to the countries who are not subject to those   regulations (hence, just increase long distance shipping volumes and not solve any   problem ...more

I would venture out to say that the main cost difference is the transportation. that is why I   said before that the only one who could pull a project like that off is Enbridge. for them   the economics work and it would be foolish for them to not try and do it.  FYI, doing a project like that in Canada is extremely expensive vs the u.s south due to   costs of ...more
