PEA returns to to a land-based project

"The world has changed a lot since then," Pieridae CEO Alfred Sorensen told CBC News Tuesday. "We have to take advantage of all the work we've done already and try and see if we can move the project forward very quickly."

Earlier this year, Pieridae Energy was considering a smaller project with a floating LNG barge where gas would be super-chilled and then transferred onto tankers.

The company is now shifting its attention back to a land-based project because it would be able to produce more gas than a barge-based facility, and the federal government is interested in maximizing output, Sorensen said.

Poor Alfie hasn't figured it out yet. Never ever rely on government, or even get them involved. Hair pulling, tears, delays, and disappointment. Never a happy ending. Nothing happens. Nothing ever happens quickly. And most certainly, nothing ever happens "very quickly". Meanwhile, just pump that gas at huge profit and forget you ever set foot on the east coast.

times indeed have changed..if i'm not mistaken , basic earthworks had already commenced at the GOLDBORO site . Also, i'm pretty sure any asian shipyard qualified to build a floating LNG facilty is caught up in supply chain issues and are months possibly even years in back orders for stuff tied to LNG. Lets have a fish fry and get 'er done ..dwdc PS..wonder why PEMBINA didn't step ...more

Trees were cleared off the Goldboro site a few years ago. Nothing else. There are not really any basic earthworks. Civil engineering work by itself pours in about a billion, requires gobs of contracts, etc.  If they started in the Fall, that would be a lightning start.

I doubt anyone is ever expecting anything to happen on our east coast. Canada is a laughing stock in Europe, just like Trudeau. Poor alfie needs to give up on that once and for all. Focus on all those suddenly, profusely, profitable gas assets from shell. If you want to build some kind of export terminal in the east coast, draw a line from Pennsylvania pipelines to the coast and ship from there ...more
