People sell for many reasons like the director that recently exercised options. She may have used the cash for a new car. Down payment on a cottage. Kids university at Harvard. Divorce settlement. Or a hundred other reasons other than she was worried the stock was going lower. BUT, these insider buys, even if individually smaller than the sale, are far more meaningful. It's a corpporate policy.  Senior executive are expected to own up to 3x their salary is shares.  They have 3 years to reach the target.  If they don't, they can't participate in other incentives like annual bonus.

Hmm, while it may sound well intentioned, Too often I've seen the 3x salary requirement as an excuse to load up the execs with free shares via a rsu,dsu or some such plans that don't have the same skin in the game money at risk as intended. It seems even less necessary to me for small and microcap companies to pursue aggressive compensation plans. Having said that, the recent buys ...more
