I was

I was slightly worried, I sold a small portion of my holdings  5000 peyto today, thought I shall buy back tomorrow, now  I think I have to buy back tomorrow at a gap up in morning, maybe losing a couple of thousand dollars.

Have you considered not logging in your brokerage? Literally minutes after you post that Pey is going double you sell 4 times more shares than I have. U know I held this turd for 2 years at 60% plus losses till it became a shiny turd against all expectations.

Peyto never was a turrrd. From their second well onward they have moved nothing but forward even in the darkest of times few can imagine other than a WW3, or Nuclear wasteland.  An oil energy wasteland last couple of years. They have never been a huge company but have grown into a fairly large one that eventually will have some clout.  With their ten plants I don't think there are ...more

That's little consolation to me who would have been 95% down if I didn't average down. Having Pey rally 500% and I'm still underwater, it's just a failed investment. So buying Pey in 2018 was 100% turd. I was basically 2 years too early. Absolutely nobody was saying to buy Peyto and pile in when it was 98 cents. There was only talk of underwater hedges and no recovery in sight. Now ...more

Timing is everything - looking back I'd have done better to sell when Peyto was high and then buy back in again when it crashed low, but the fact that I didn't is my problem not Peyto's. They're a great company.

I bought some at $30 too, if I bought other stocks, VET over $40 at the same time, BNE over $40, and many many others it would not matter if Peyto or others. Had nothing to do with Peyto or any of those other companies.  We were being sold down the river by the Americans hedge funds, greenies, taken off the indexes, who knows how much the Saudis, and Ruskies sold down the market shorting etc ...more

as a long time holder of PEY i share Gold's pain.  i had less than 2000 shares in 2017 but the 90%+ drop in SP was certainly significant for me. But i must thank Yasch and others for their exceptional insights which gave me the faith to average down - buying back heavily between $2 - $4.  my head is now significantly above water and  the outlook seems very positive.  owe ...more

Wish we had more like Yasch on this board like the old days. I put on ignore all people that have nothing but negative things to say as I just can't believe anyone owning the stock and being here trashing it, or not owning the stock and giving a darn.   Sometimes I might miss out on something good but who cares. On one hand I also think do you stay the course, if nothing has ...more

It's a crazy market now.  A bit a go when the wind started to come out of high multiple growth stocks I sold off XBC and bought back into PEY.  So I'm back for more!   All I can say is I hope this time around it has a better outcome.  I won't jump in with both feet but will probably buy opportunistically to the end of the year.
