PEYTO earnings...

I scanned the results and I don't know about you all but, I thought this report was very good considering how commodity prices have declined. Very good. With that said...I be very surprised if we didn't see a reversal in share price. My opinion of course. I thought it was great!

Generally average report considering the commodity prices. $60m in FCF will probably be considered too weak to be satisfying for the market. Debt decrease by $25m is good but that is the best they will do for the rest of the year considering the $58m dividend/Q payments. The $70m hedging loss in Malin gave me nausea when I read it. I guess I have developped a sensitivity to Peyto's hedging ...more

It will be interesting to see how the market reacts with a FCF miss and an EPS beat. Personally I love the debt reduction and know earnings will be higher with hedges ending and future Cascade pricing approaching quickly. This is one stock that I want to hold and acquire more of.  That being said the market loves to punish stocks for any reason and the FCF miss along with lower production ...more

I am disappointed in the fact Gee said about a year and half ago that one rig basically was able to maintain production levels. We have to assume this was not correct. I fully expected to see more debt paid down.  But I also expect less spending in the 2nd quarter with possibly more debt to be paid down than the first quarter.  I guess we will see.
