PEY Moves into Big League

NG prices should strengthen and PEY will benefit.

There will be some profit taking as buyers below 12.5 will be tempted to sell. Even those who got the receipts may sell the shares they hold.

Hold and enjoy the 10%+  yield. They said that  they will be increasing it in future so fear of a cut is gone. Today BIR, TOU and POU are in green which is a good sign. PEY is definitely better than BIR.

I'm curious if Eric has bought more of Peyto since the news.

The production difference between 156 natgas rigs in the US (peak average of the past year reached in May - current 52 week average is 147 IMO) and the current count (113) extrapolated to 52 weeks can be measured in T's of natural gas. US natgas pricing will go up....eventually.

In order to have a correct estimate of production from these new wells you need to take into account the increase production per well from these rigs related to their increased efficiency/productivity. There has been dramatic change in production from new wells related to these rigs in the last 15 years.

During the few days when PEY was at  $9.71 I was tempted by the attractive dividend, and took a risk by picking up 2k shares, at $9.81.That was before Peyto's CEO called me at home at 8:00 pm on the following day.  He was most belivable during our lengthy discussion. Now I wish I bought at least 8000. I  know we ususlly have 20/20 hindsight.

robert41  I suggest you read my June15 post (#35499188) where I reported of that very reassuring discussion, we had when the CEO of Peto returned my call.

If all remains the same w peyto and we see NG prices stabilize in the 4s or 5s over the next year I will buy peyto up to $15 or $18. With current divvy in place that's still a 7% yield - and I'm good with that!
