seeking alpha article on PIH from July 5

Here it is:

https://seekingalpha.com/article/3986349-pacific-insight-electronics-getting-ready-take-next-step

Author is Dan Stringer. It's quite well written:

"Between this discount, the upside catalysts, and the operational and foreign currency tailwinds, PIH makes a good risk-reward prospect at these levels."

Galileo Global also tout PIH in following video. Video is labelled about a REIT, but talks about energy for 90% of the time and mentions PIH right at the end...fortunately I did not turn it off before then!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oyrykj8Mpbc

Probably more substantive reason for down move as vote for strike readiness taken as part of Canadian negotiations with carmakers, but the Union gets this strike mandate before most negotiations take place. Possibly more tricky negotiations as Canada commitment being sought rather than usual wage and pension type factors...job security big issue with the Mexico competitiveness. Still US and global ...more

Are you saying that since FY result of EPS baked into price there may be more of a downside risk and perhaps a lower entry point ?

If they repeat last quarter, I expect bether results though, stock will be trading at 7 PE.. most auto companies trade around same level which is stupidly cheap vs tech, consumer , utilities trade above 15PE.. but hey markets never make sense.. your lower entry level could happen by stink bid any day.. may be put orders every .50 down as some idiots just sell on market order so you may get filled ...more

If referring to moi, I am suggesting that current question of the auto industry's future prodn numbers (particularly in North America) and any prevailing Union negotiations might not impact share price negatively. The numbers they release will be deserving of a reasonable multiple since they should prove TTM over $1.75 per share and an increasing revenue and earnings trend. An 8 multiple would ...more

Appreciate the prompt and informative responses guys . Thinking of taking a partial position . The only fly in the ointment is the fact we are heading into the traditionally weakest month of the year and the markets are due for some form of a correction .

probably better to wait for financials in your case then. I don't think we will see any major upside till then but may be few more days of big swings as some investors may wanna exit.. and if your expected pull back happens in markets you still have opportunity to buy lower may be.. Insider ownership is quite significant here so I am surprised no dividend announcement yet.. I also hold FTG.TO ...more

I would not equate insider ownership (yes, it's about 30& currently) with dividend. The insiders last did a non-brokered pick up around $4.50...they don't need a dividend!  Besides, this one has to grow and/or diversify so capital is a priority.eom

took an initial position today.

agreed.. I was wondering the possibility as they keep putting their money into this business.. That's when I found the company when they did the financing and kept buying as high as $8.. You can't go wrong with solid insider commitment in growth stocks.. The recent one I found is BEW.V which is in industrial cloud sector and serious insider ownership and participation in recent financing.. ...more
