Ya winter is coming and that's good but what is forcing the sell off in PNE  . The market this morning shows  lots of sell pressure . PNE is down 50 percent from highs not long ago . So the re rating from PNE's bizarre explanation about why they are not doing buybacks or dividends Is definitely kicking in .

Where do you get “... down 50 percent from highs not long ago”?  You are going to have show your work to support that contention.  From .83/share (highest price since Apr 2017) on 27 Oct to .71/share yesterday does not equal a 50% change by any calculation I can make. I don’t see “...lots of sell pressure”.  The past month looks more like day trading and aggressive shorting by ...more

Yes it did trade at 90 cents though for a day and then sold down to 86. So 50 percent is an exaggeration , 25 is not though . Every  other producer said they are doing buybacks .  Every other producer carries debt but every other producer made efforts to pay shareholders for their patience . Phil gets no credit for anything ...  he is paid to run PNE and he needs to pay shareholders ...more

Phil is getting the finances in a solid position before the div (which i like) and if you can find a oil and gas company that don't pay managment   options i would love to know it  not that i like it but we have to live with it .

The day high on 15 Oct was .90/share; the close .84.  The math, taking you numbers (.90 as the recent high trade and today’s dip of a trade of 3,845 shares @.67; so a delta of .23), would give your 25%. But in a thin and weak market it begs the question of what point your exaggerations are making. Similarly, not all other producers are doing buy-backs, nor does it follow that all or any of ...more

Well you know that drum Eric Nuttall is pounding to force producers to buy back their stock to pay their shareholders after years of negative returns ... well he should Wack you and Phil Hodge with it to knock some sense into you both .  the debt is paid , the debt due in 2024 does not matter . They are drilling with cash flow and putting money in the bank to build a war chest for their ...more

Continuation of debt repayment is a good use of cash. Getting the debt ratio in better condition is a good insurance policy  in case of warm weather and reduction of prices. Deferring dividends as a result is a consequence. Because the stock is not widely held... reducing the number of share would further concentrate ownership. Hence maybe a stock buyback is not palatable.
Comment by FreeCashFlow on Nov 25, 2021 8:59am
Of course buy backs are palatable! Jesus Christ they revised their website twice , 2 times , to reflect to surprise increase in cash flow from the surprise increase in gas prices . So pay the shareholders first ! Spin all the scenarios you want this cash flow is beyond anyone's expectations..... pay the god dam shareholders now Phil and stop the bulls hit .

Free CashFlow   you sound a little too upset over a small dividend , relax don't let this give you a heart attack i would like you to be here for $1.00 SHARE PRICE  by year end. Cold weather has started and weather forcast the next four weeks is showing colder . We had the first nat gas draw down last week -26. GLT LONGS

"Thou doth protest to strongly" 1) Pay the debt first. Defer dividends until the risks to future cash flow are diminished. The company is still debt heavy if the price of gas drops significantlyly. Reduce risk to cash flows.   2) Set up a dividend is better than stock buybacks because it will lessen the float and the stock is already traded thinly. Not as severe as BNE but the same ...more

I understand what you're saying.  I also understand ceo's that tell stories to keep investors biting or as I have called it before, carrot dangling.  However, in this case, I think debt should be paid first even though they made the mistake of taking too much debt to begin with and shareholders paid the price while they still collected salaries and issued new cheapo options to ...more

You are right with all of what you say and I definitely agree with your comments regarding options.  It is typical business theme for management to feel more worthy than shareholders...always.  Only Buffett truly understands and cares for shareholders.    However, this one likely has the greatest leverage out of most of them...more bang for the buck in my opinion.  They ...more

Agree with your assessment , the low volume of daytrading will be a bad move for the traders when this pop's over a buck , don't forget this winter hasn't showed up yet and finally cold air is building in the artic and is moving down , this will drive demand for gas and the inevitable panic buying . Another thing i like about this company is they are great at selling into the near ...more
