Reactions to earnings

next week i expect a Baytex type reaction to the stock when we show the investment community in print how well PNE is doing and they should announce a time line for the inevitable dividend.

I don't see the reaction you are anticipating.  Stock will probably drop.  i hope you're right but I don't think so.

Bandit two things. On this post re PNE WHY do you expect drop if results are as good as some, me included, are anticipating? Particularly if we get confirmation of 'great' 2022 outlook. And re; Peridae, why 'only in Canada'. Their project was, I seem to remember, underpinned by German Govt., and its encumbrances are Canada-based problems which only Canada Feds may unblock, namely ...more

Geopolitics, sure. But LNG isn't going to appear by next weeks earnings. It is also easy to assume results because everyone knows what gas prices are and what their production is. Not hard to figure out. I just think things are baked in and people are wanting a return which in today's world, since there will be no share buybacks, means a dividend. Share price has dropped on good results ...more

I 100 % agree . Everyone knows the numbers for year end and q4 ... it is time for a dividend . I half expected a one time dividend last q and am fully expecting a one time dividend on March 8 . They are well behind on this payout to shareholders . In October PNE was .85 and that's what it is today . Only today oil is 100.00 and aeco is strong at 4.50 . I have rolled half my pne into BNE over ...more

I bought BNE last week.  Same sentiments as you.  Still have PNE and done well but the dividend carrot dangling is well past its due date for PNE.  And their busines model was to be a dividend paying company...10 years ago. haha I will go much bigger in to BNE eventually but will wait until this current chaos settles before I pick away at more.

Where were you guys to give advice when I sold VET at 10? GLTA
Comment by bandit69 on Mar 01, 2022 2:18pm
come on.  VET is oil/liquids weighted and a different ballgame.  PNE is mostly dry gas.  Big difference.  And as I said, new LNG is years away minus what's being constructed now.  People forgot (or maybe weren't alive yet?) the McKenzie Delta Imperial oil pipeline that took 20 years!! to get all permits and approvals and that was long BEFORE the newest eco warriors ...more

PNE cannot issue a dividend when capital account is negative. Shareholders will need to vote at the AGM to reset the capital account. This is a Canadian legal accounting requirement.

Yes that makes sense . Moved 50k $ out of PNE yesterday and bought more  BNE at 10.00 . Looks like I will get my dividend today ... BNE to open over 10.50  sell your PNE folks . It takes 2 seconds to move all your money . PNE will do well but move into Oil . The world is at War !!
