Fantastic Opportunity - The Brains of the Patch Reside Here.

POU it going to be flush in cash when the entire industry is struggling with low gas prices and now low oil prices.

Really if your sitting on almost 4 billion dollars in Cash and Equities, Paramount will have to add a new line to the balance sheet called interest income.

The question has already been asked, WilleyGreen how fast can you go? North Duvernay, two rigs full time max out the facilities, and Sinclair what the plan for the next 10 wells.

However Pou may pursue some of its other inventory of opportunities, with 2025 technology this is likely worth a lot more attractive play....

The Company had received an updated independent evaluation of its bitumen resources within the Grand Rapids formation at its Hoole oil sands property. Estimated economic contingent bitumen resources increased 20 percent from the April 2010 evaluation to 763 million barrels (Best Estimate (P50)). The before- tax net present value of future net revenue of such economic contingent resources, discounted at ten percent (Best Estimate (P50)), increased 49 percent to $2.8 billion.

Or maybe they are going to sell another oil sands lease?

Paramount Resources Ltd. (TSX:POU) ("Paramount") is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to sell its oil sands leases and shut-in and producing natural gas rights in the Surmont area of Alberta to MEG Energy Corp. (the "Purchaser") for total consideration of $301.7 million.

Oh ya the sale of the Kakwa assets..

CALGARY, ALBERTA - Aug. 18, 2016 /CNW/ -Paramount Resources Ltd. (TSX:POU) ("Paramount" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed its Musreau / Kakwa asset sale (the "Sale Transaction") to Seven Generations Energy Ltd. ("7G"). Consideration received by Paramount under the Sale Transaction totaled approximately $2.1 billion, and included approximately $0.5 billion in cash (after adjustments), approximately $1.0 billion in 7G shares (based on the August 17 closing price for 7G shares) and approximately $0.6 billion of debt assumed by 7G (including accrued interest and based on the August 17 noon Canada / U.S. dollar exchange rate).

Or they might just buy a Company Cash?

CALGARYJuly 6, 2017 /CNW/ - Paramount Resources Ltd. (TSX: POU) ("Paramount" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with certain subsidiaries of Apache Corporation to acquire Apache Canada Ltd. ("Apache Canada") for $459.5 million, plus working capital and other monetary adjustments (the "Apache Canada Acquisition"). Paramount plans to fund the Apache Canada Acquisition with cash on hand and no debt will be assumed.

I guess what i saying here is that anyone that thinks that POU doesn't have plans and a strategy where to put these proceeds, they just don't understand the company

Have to agree there are a couple options here that all return $$$ to shareholders. They can use a fraction of the cash for a juicy special divi, increase production on the assets still left  and still go buy something. I might have to pick up some more shares if it drops any further.

Drop further? Say it ain't so? Maybe the Riddels have another $3 billion in flowing barrel asstes they can sell to prop it up? C'mon poo cheer harder! GL Fellow Investors

Quinte - this is hardly a propping scenario. Imagine getting liquidity through a large special divvy. This could be a 470m pay day for the Riddell family. Now you know the Riddells are very tax efficient so don't pee your pants if some of the dividend comes out on a tax free basis. Check accounting rules as I don't want to jump down that rabbit hole. Imagine 470m tax free ... they can prop ...more

Most dividends come tax paid.  That's why your broker boosts the taxable amount on your T5 and then the CRA gives you a big dividend tax credit to avoid the double taxation.   I am not sure what that has to do with a lowering share price or the need to prop it up. The I was just telling poo elsewhere that the share price was $2 a share higher in April than it is today and ...more
