It should be interesting on the stock price tomorrow. PPL had warned that they would be writiing down the plastics plant. I like the idea of doing all the write-downs at once and get them off the books.

These writedowns don't affect cash flow and it was good to see adjusted cash flow per share stay the same as Q4 2019. 

I would think that the writedowns were already factored in and with the NCIB, that the share price will actually close higher tomorrow.

It doesn't really matter to me as I'm a dividend income investor but it should be interesting to see.

Hi Sarge - like you I dont care what happens tomorrow because I initiated long position in Nov at  yield in excess of over 9%   However , my view is that market is not going to take $1.6 billion impairment loss positively because it impacts future cash flow potential and its ability to grow dividends. Actually they do affect cash flow, positively. They use these for tax writedowns and use the extra cash to buy back stock.

hey sarge, in the grand scheme of things this is pretty good. with ipl being up due to the bip action and now ppl dipping makes for a great swap ratio and i'll end up with more shares in stronger company.
