08:00 AM EDT, 10/20/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Pembina Pipeline Corp. (PPL.TO) reported Wednesday its commitment to slash emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels.

To meet the target, Pembina said it will initially focus on opportunities to lower emissions at operations, including optimizing pipeline capacity and constructing cogeneration facilities.

The company also plans greater use of renewable and lower emission energy sources as well as invest in a lower carbon economy.

Pembina released today its ESG performance data for 2020, which include the company's safety record and investments of over $9 million in communities.
