Alberta fires...

Could bring some disruption to companies close to the fires. We may also witness some share decline due to this nature which would be expected. 
However, let's not forget that humanity takes first preference, so lets hope everything turns out ok for everyone.

just curious, alberta is having over a dozen forest fires that started around the same time, close to election time, coincidence?  Those forest fires are located near oil towns, coincidence?  The NDP and liberals offer no help. Coincidence?

Funny you mentioned this. That very same thought process crossed my mind too. But...the federal government did say that they would offer immediate assistance if Alberta ready for help. Hmmm.. we'll see how this week plays out.

Totally recall the 2021 wildfire. Funny, for awhile now, they  call it.... " Fire season ". It's now clockwork. Even here in BC it happens.. And it seems like it's always in the same areas too. What are the odds?

Could it be that by always preventing fires we just aid in making them more frequent and larger? Forests that have such massive accumulation of dead material just waiting for a lightning strike to light it up.. it's a natural part of our environment. There's trees and shrubs that have evolved to depend on fires to propagate.  We snuff out every fire we can. And we are surprised they ...more

I believe you are absolutely right. In California the sequoia and redwood trees among other species are protected, and it is illegal to cut them down. As a result, a lot of those that are dead fall down and become the perfect fuel for forest fire if struck by lightning. Since they are inaccessible because the lack of tote roads, they became a real fire hazard. Just another example of the fact that ...more
