We are finally consolidating

It looks like we will trade in the $1.80-$1.90 range until the next good or bad catalyst. I suppose that could be earnings in March. Do they typically announce the dividend before the full year 2019 earnings release? Is anyone expecting a special dividend or anything like that?

Well this is what happened last year,   TORONTO, Feb. 12, 2019 /CNW/ - Pivot Technology Solutions, Inc. (TSX: PTG), ("Pivot" or the "Company"), a full-service information technology provider, today declared its quarterly cash dividend on the common shares of the Company in the amount of CAD $0.04 per share (an annualized amount of CAD $0.16 ...more

So we'll know in about two weeks then if there is an growth or special dividend I suppose. Hoping for either!

What's a special dividend ?
Comment by scarface9 on Feb 03, 2020 7:53am
It's a one time payment. Sometimes when a company has extra cash they decide to pay it out to shareholders as a special dividend.

Essentially, it's a gift from t.PTG mgmt  to the long withstanding and patient shareholders :) It's a way for them to say, 'Hey, thanks sticking with us!'

Considering the regular dividend and the debt they carry, I would prefer no special dividend. They'd be better off using the Edge cash to pay down debt.
Comment by knicksman on Feb 03, 2020 3:22pm
There's zero chance of a special. They should repay debt. I hope they provide more detail on its agreement with Intel. I suspect it could be a decent catalyst for the stock.

I'd prefer a regular common dividend increase versus a special dividend..it's been studied to have longer lasting benefits to shareholder value creation.

I'm surprised no one has announced to acquire pivot yet on the sole fact that the smart edge partnership should drive very high margin service revenues for pivot. Let's see how it all plays out!

SmartEdge was/is the platform that made me buy PTG in June, 2019. I had been watching them for a while after seeing Robert McWhirter's interest in them over a long period (credit to him as he saw the potential but he was just a bit early as they stumbled in finding their way forward in reducing debt and finding higher margin in their offerings) . I was also happy to see Pivot efficiently ...more

Steady freddy here. I'm looking forward to a possible dividend hike in a few weeks. They clearly now have the room to increase it steadily annually. I love my quarterly dividend checks!
Comment by Sunnyboy on Feb 05, 2020 6:50pm
I think a 5% div hike would send a positive message and would be a possible catalist to move us up too  $2.25 - $2.50. In addition a Q4 statement that beats expectations could move us further up too $2.75….

100% agree. The message behind any dividend hike would be more significant than the hike itself. And the stock would really soar I think. Flying high.
