I'm going to get Flack for saying this but company should

not have been buying back shares.  Even now, at these low prices, company should not be buying back shares.

Paying DIVIDENDS is better way of rewarding EXISTING shareholders.

DIVIDENDS is what makes people buy and HOLD.

I see/feel little reward when company buys back shares.  On the other hand, when I get a dividend, I see and feel the reward, immediately.

Everyone loves a fat divvy but astute buybacks improve share performance, or should.  Could in fact lead to later divvy increases.  At the very least an increased SP, if it results, takes the pressure off the dividend as the yield drops.
