Buybacks vs Book Value

I said before I didn't like the idea of buybacks even at these price levels, but I guess if "Book Value" truely reflects the accurate value, I guess buybacks should "ADD" to the Value on a Per Share bases as long as the Buybacks are done at below Book Value.

Look at it this way also:  For every share they buy back at these prices they save payinfg out $1.54 in annual dividends.  Tha's an 11.72 % return on invested capita risk freel.  Pretty good deal.

11.72% "return" may sound great but you forget something... The capital (money) is gone.   You need almost 10 years of "savings" to get your capital back!   Plus, buybacks is not like "investing", like you and I do when we buy PXT shares.    We get the 11.72% return in dividends PLUS we will most likely get CRAZY Capital Gain on the ...more

I totally disagree. They should absolutely be buying as many shares back as they can at this price.   ( no qeustion ). Not at higher prices ... ( but under $16 a share buy baby buy ).

Problem with this stock is (based on geography mostly) that it gets hammered on even the slightest bad news, but does not get rewarded for what they do well and have done so well (generate free cash flow).  Frustrated here, having held these shares for a few years now. I fully understand the math of the buyback, but I just don't know that they will get credit for it as they have done ...more
