Fdfd, it is about accounting standards and being able to recognize the appreciation of the value of investments under certain conditions. Odd but NOT misleading. Investors need to read the financial statements if they want all the details.

From gains on their investment in HPQ. This doesn't change the fact that their basic EPS was $0.10, as stated in their earnings. You may want to spend some time brushing up on your accounting. Regards.

When you have .10 and all of it was because of your investment, then your won business hasn't done much. Have you ever heard of adjusted earnings? PYR's earnings were .10 but adjusted to .03 and not 0 because of stock compensation.
