The elephant in the room

...will Peter draw some attention to HPQ in his Sidoti presentation, especially given their major contribution to Q4 guidance? They were hardly mentioned in the SNN presentation.

HPQ is a pretty huge elephant. One that PYR would love to watch it grow bigger. For obvious reasons. I'm hoping he talks about them this time. At the end of the day though, the samples will speak for themselves! Looking forward to a great year for PYR and HPQ!

Big boys will put HPQ on their "watch list". Without knowing names of partners or seeing many $ at this stage, they will not take the words of the two CEOs as a gimme. I think PYR needs to draw more attention on where their commercial or near-commercial products are heading. JMHO.

Agreed that the focus will be on the four 'verticals' that Peter focussed on in his SNN presentation. It just seems to me that they might tweak that presentation a bit to drop in a few words in the Sidoti presentation for their 'de facto' fifth vertical, especially since they are the largest part of Q4 eps guidance. Guess we'll see soon. 2021 is starting GREAT with Peter going ...more

Avoiding heavy mentions of HPQ is a risk mitigation strategy, and part of the whole structure of the PYR/HPQ relationship. It is intentional. HPQ is set up as the separate entity that test runs the commercialization of potential products. PYR specifically keeps themselves separate as a "contractor" doing work for HPQ, even if the reality is it's essentially a 100% PYR endeavour ...more

Does anyone know how many employees PYR has?
Comment by MidtownGuy on Jan 11, 2021 9:58pm
They have 70 employees. All the corporate details are listed on SEDAR under a file called "Annual Information Form" or AIF.

Thanks.

MtG, while I might agree to the risk mitigation aspect, the fact that PYR's eps guidance relies hugely on the HPQ contribution suggests to me that Peter might need to address it...even if it's only in the Q&A's following presentation. The HPQ eps impact on guidance is solely why I've labelled it "the elephant in the room"

Ah gotcha. Fair point.

Analysts can figure it out from the financial statements or the other giveaway is that you cant make more profit than revenues. I am pretty sure any longer term analysis will focus on operational revenues. Flactuations caused by a volatile microcap market is not something that they will hang their hat on. They will have to eventually figure out what kind of revenues willbbe coming out of HPQ.

canyousayiii, king of the blatantly obvious...of course analysts will break it all down. What I'm referring to here is simply the presentation that Peter will give on the 14th to a primarily US audience. I'm sure Peter is fully aware of the 'elephant in the room' on their Q4 and FY earnings, so I expect he might jump ahead of the bus and give a minute or two on the relationship ...more
