Fair market value of strategic investments
Anyone else is affraid of what would happened if HPQ sp would drop to $1.00 or $0.90 by the end of Q2?
PYR recorded a comprehensive income of $41millions for the year ending 12/31/2020.
The result of "fair market value" on HPQ investment, which saw its SP increased from $0.08 to $1.10 by the end of 2020.
PYR will probably record some $3M in comprehensive income in Q1, due to the increase in HPQ from $1.10 to $1.17 at the end of March.
Every drop of $0.10 in HPQ sp would represent +/- $4 millions in comprehensive loss

This may dissuade those who don't pay attention, but ultimately it's just the share price. Not always reflective of operations or HPQ's overall success. I would not be too concerned though, given HPQ keeps finding higher support and has a pretty regimented and planned out 2021 that should give way to a higher share price in any case.

to be honest, not afraid at all. If you are invested in PYR you are most likely also aware of the HPQ story and potential that company has. You would also be aware the stock is still being shorted. Personally, any blip under $1.00 to me is just a blip..and additional buying opportunity.

If HPQ continue to drop, it will be devastating for PYR Q2 results. Assuming they have the same volume of shares they had in Q4 last year, today's accrued comprehensive loss if over $8,000,000. Contracts and revenues better showing up soon, fast, large and with high margin. . .

As an accounting issue, and I am not an accoutant, dont warrant conversions go straight to the capital account and not income ?

Stairway it doesn't matter what HPQ does. The market is reacting to what PYR does. Look at the stock price NOW! WIth the help of HPQ, the earnings were great. Stock goes down cause they want PYR to be able to earn without the help of HPQ. I think it has become quite obvious don't you think?
Wrong $1.20 to $.71. Also it doesn't matter for the $-.11. The market didn't care before when their earnings were +.10 caused by HPQ going up. They won't care -.11 EPS with HPQ going down. Market only cares for PYR and how they do. If you look at their eranings, you need to look for "operational income or adjusted income" That is what will move the market.
I hope you're right. But you recalled the headline for Q4? I wounder how the Q2 headline will look like. Certainly they will hide this in the fine print. . .
Look, I am the one who said, "PYR did not do .10 in EPS since all of that .10 was due to HPQ investment. They did .02 if you take out the HPQ investment". Everyone on this board told me to Foff. The stock didn't rise at that time and NOW it will not drop because of this negative number.
I was with you then, and yes the stock didn't rise, but it would have dropped without it. So I'm concern that it will be adjusted in Q2
Well today is end of Q2, and HPQ sp stands at $0.72. A drop of $0.45 from 3/31 If PYR did not sell any shares, they will have to book a comprehensive loss of some $18,000,000 in their Q2 financials . .
