Hydrogen Plasma Processing of Iron Ore

Maybe that s what pyr is working on and discussing with iron majors.
It could be the reason for so much secrecy and delay .
still in patent phase i think .
Finding the right recipe to produce decarbonized steel.

Hydrogen Plasma Processing of Iron Ore

Hydrogen plasma will be very important to achieve steelmaking without co2 emissions .
so maybe we are not only talking iron pellets .
But are on something bigger .

I was Just looking for plasma applications in steel industry .
intriguing
but no false hopes

AST is a Montreal-based company that designs and builds (i) gas upgrading systems (specifically from biogas to renewable natural gas, or “RNG”), (ii) Pyrolysis-Gas Purification, (iii) Coke-Oven Gas (“COG”) Purification as well as providing (iv) Biogas & Landfill-Gas Flares and Thermal Oxidizers.

eparately, AST is also active in the purification of coke-oven gas (a by-product in the primary steel industry arising from the conversion of coal into coke), into high purity hydrogen, which is very sought after in the industry.

This is quite possible. We know the plasma torches are going to replace every electric arc torch in the pellatization process, eventually. This would be a logical next step. The full meal deal. This process definitely falls within the scope of Pyrogenesis plasma expertise, and definitely has to be tested. The H2 generator powder business could be beyond massive, once it becomes proven. That's not possible, for anyone that has read the abstract.   It is shown that hydrogen plasma processing requires less energy than carbothermic reduction, mainly because pelletization, sintering, and cokemaking are not required.  So PYR is not into hydrogen plasma, as it wouldn't be approached at this moment by Client A, B, C from the iron pelletization industry for ...more
