Fed/Prov financing of Muskrat Falls cost overruns
The financing of the cost overruns has been an obstacle in determining the selling cost of the power. The assistance from the Feds, to be announced today, will now allow "reasonable" rates to be offered and planning of the 500kms of new transmission lines to Lab City will be able to proceed. IOC will be able to proceed with it's project to change out 120 bunker burners starting with the first 4 to be operating in 2022. Allow three years to plan/build the transmission lines before installing 16 torches to complete one line and test it. and then two more tears to complete the remaining 100 changeouts. 2027 to have 120 torches in operation. If this is fast tracked maybe it could be cut to 3 years, 2025. JMHO. Be patient folks.

Agreed. At least in Labrador the power is now there, and there is more coming, but none of it is where it is needed. This project was political at the very start and is still so. All they need is industry. That is on the other side of Labrador. It was supposed to go to the island and to Nova Scotia but all of that needs to go under water and it is a long way from being ready.
