this new procedure eliminates coke and uses gaz instead in the pelletisation of iron if i understood anything at least .

Again... All iron ore has to eventually be "reduced"  -- removing of the oxygen -- in order to be turned into steel or iron. it is a chemical process. But this happens during the steel making process, not during the pellet making process. Tradtional or primary steel making uses coal and coke during the smelter phase at high heat to mix with the ore pellets, causing combustion ...more

Thanks for your post MTG. It appears that a few folks are stuck-on-stupid here on the difference between the steel making and pellet making processes. I know it might be 'a lot' for some minds ...or maybe some posters just might be attempting to use this complication to create some FUD.

Very easy to get confused when pellets is done in both processes. I think Yajne was not aware of this. LOL None of these have anything to do with pelletization, and both require pellets that are baked during an induration phase.
