The answer is no. You don't seem to understand what the purpose of the induration process is. It is performed to concentrate the iron ore for efficient shipping of the ore. The only way hydrogen could be involved in this process is if you burned it which would make no sense. As MTM tried to explain to you the exchange of coal for hydrogen is in the actual steelmaking process.

can they use reduced iron directly and feed it to greensteel mills ? that s what they suggest at any rate . no iron pelletization is coming into the equation when they produce that RDI . and that RDI goes directly to stellmaking i certainly don t understand but thats what is suggested reading the news . no mention of iron pellets any where . strange you may say

They use hydrogen to reduce the iron oxides .RDI hydrogen instead of co2 generating coke pyrogen replaces fuel burning in furnaces this rdi approach doesn t need a lot of heat i guess no furnaces or less of it . any chemist around ? i really think they are on to something new .
