But a good reminder of where Vale is headed. Vale may treble emissions reduction investment to US$6B - Mining Journal (mining-journal.com)   "The company said that 57% of the scope 1 and 2 emissions came from it's pelletizing and metalurgy processes, mainly due to fossil fuel consumption in the furnaces. It's main decarbonisation solutions were increased use of bio-energy, electrification through the use of plasma to substitute fossil fuels" etc. So plasma torches is one of their "main" solutions.

Vale seems to be looking at many solutions as they just signed a deal with FCT to install 90 gas torches.   BRAZIL: Vale, Vitoria   FCT has been awarded a contract to supply a set of 90 burners for Vale’s iron ore pelletizing plant in Vitoria. Note that these are for the kiln, NOT the induration furnaces.which is the plasma torch application.

main..POSSIBLE solutions.... I would think Biofuel is the easiest and possible the cheapest as electricity doesn't get any cheaper especially in Europe. Not sure the deal they have with the brazilian government has anyone actually produced a comparison cost based on cost per kilowatt hour and  bunker, bio and NG fires. Pyro claims 30% savings but makes no reference to what cost per ...more
