Vale produces over 350 Million tonnes/year of iron ore

The new pilot plant proposed is not even .3% of Vales annual production:

The Tecnored plant in Marab will have an initial annual production capacity of 250,000 tonnes of pig iron, though the company believes output could eventually reach as much as 500,000 tonnes per year. Vale has committed about $345 million in capital for the plant, with start-up planned for 2025.

Vale entire operations however is over 350-400 MILLION tonnes/year which is like 700-800x larger than that new proposed pilot plant. Vale's existing 19 plants will need to retrofit their bio diesel burners..where most including myself believe From all the press releases and interviews, we know Client A is Vale. Pyrogenesis as they have patents for plasma heat application for induration furnaces for iron ore.

Great.. That would be a perfect fit for a 5 to 8 MW torch...Think Big...

Do you have clue what 8MW means? How many amp is it? What electrode can take it?

4 MW plasma torch is commercialized in Europe. Could go to 10. ( for special application). Require Ag- Cu electrode ( high purity mtl). with EM ( electromagnetic) arc stabilisation. Cannot be done with gaz vortex stabilisator like the one used by PYR for smaller kw. KA = MW/ kV. Personally I would prefer 2 x 4 MW units instead of one 8 MW unit. To reduce the risk of downtimes which are the main ...more
