Torch electrical consumption

1mw torch times 50 torches for a furnace
thats 50 MW x 24 hrs
1200 MWhr per day x $50/MWhr(probably on the high side average for heavy industries. (Ontario MW price goes as low as $10MW/hr at times)

$60,000 per day on average for plasma torches. Quite a bit cheaper than diesel or bunker c.

Oil burners have to burn more oil for preheat steam and to drive off moisture

bunker c oil is the filthiest fuel on the planet. It contains 3500 times the sulphur of normal diesel.

it's full of heavy metals that are released to the atmosphere when combusted on the daily. I'm not even gonna mention the carbon problems

what kind of person could justify defending oil burners when such a better alternative has been presented?

Answer me this. If the client was happy with its bunker c burners, why did they call PYR? Why did they purchase torches? Why are they currently installing them? Are these clients stupid? Are they trying to lose money? Did they not do their homework? Maybe you've  been bumped on the head by whack a mole hammer. I'll spell it out for you. THE CLIENTS PICKED UP THE PHONE.
