Pyrogenesis Canada Inc > VALE CHOOSES NATURAL GAS FOR 100% OF ITS PELLETIZING PLANT

VALE CHOOSES NATURAL GAS FOR 100% OF ITS PELLETIZING PLANT

Holy Cow!

Vale has just made its choice with natural gas for 100% of their pelletizing furnaces in Brazil, China and Oman. This will totally eliminate the use of liquid fuel by 2024.

See Vale July 1, 2022  Press Release.

Technically speaking, I think this is by far the best solution for several reasons:

- the most economical choice (capital and operation)
- proven and readily available, starting in 2023.
- fully compatible with liquefied natural gas, bio-syngas and hydrogen ( or a mixture of both for the future)
- electric grid independent

They also indicates to be developing additional CO2 free solution like biocarbon.

This raises several questions:

- Who is client A?
-If Vale is indeed client A, why this has not been published before (Vale PR of July 1, 2022)
- Absolutely nothing on the Vale.com sites (Brazil, China and Canada) on Plasma Torch or Pyrogenesis.

Also, what impact could this decision have on the  pelletizing facilities of Rio Tinto and BHP in Australia and elsewhere?

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

How does this affect PYR? Does it mean torches are not needed?

What are you talking about? Have you read the 2021 climate change report? Vale_CC_2021-EN.pdf Pelletizing and metallurgy are responsible for more than half of Vale’s emissions and the main decarbonization solutions are: increased use of bioenergy, electrification through the use of plasma to substitute fossil fuels, and energy efficiency gains. Natural gas will still be used during the ...more

Sorry, I can't get it.... by choosing natural gas, does this have any impact on the decision to choose PYR torches? Plain question:   Does it matter to sales of PYR torches to Vale, if natural gas is chosen by Vale?
Comment by TheShare on Oct 20, 2022 10:44am
This note is dated from 1 July 2022 And then Vale asked PYR to extend the SAT up to 90 days. Why when they aren't intersted in the torches Someone wants to sprinkle FUD. What a troll

Scope 1 Emissions from our operations due to the consumption of diesel, natural gas, coal, and gasoline, for example. These are the emissions under our (Vale) control and management.   Scope 2 These are indirect emissions from the consumption of electric power or steam. We do not manage how electric energy is generated as well as emissions from this phase, but we can be more ...more

Raphaelle2 ... Nice try.  Or should I say nice FUD. So according to you, VALE would have done all these steps with PYR, even a SAT test and planning for a FAT test our plasma torch system for iron ore pelletization is now on-site with the Client in preparation for first-ever live factory usage toward that carbon reduction goal.  Maybe you should try to answer to your own "??????? ...more

C'mon folks... straight question.... Plain question:   Does it matter to sales of PYR torches to Vale, if natural gas is chosen by Vale?
Comment by Arthur02 on Oct 20, 2022 11:00am
no it shouldn't. the gas will power the torches.. the posters on this board are retarded clowns
Comment by bart10 on Oct 20, 2022 11:04am
Then what's all the fuss? We're fine!!!!!
Comment by Arthur02 on Oct 20, 2022 11:04am
though I highly doubt they will be buying any torches
Comment by BIGMOE on Oct 20, 2022 11:05am
All we need installation and  SAT from Vale and end of the story. Plasma Torch is the future, all other solution is past history.
Comment by Arthur02 on Oct 20, 2022 11:09am
is delayed news a good or bad sign? like you said in your earlier post doesnt make sense to change everything for one torch. so wheres the news!?!?
Comment by beachbuminMexic on Oct 20, 2022 11:28am
Natural gas is still a fossil fuel no. So using Natural gas is cleaner than bunker fuel but still is not Co2 free, like plasma torches. Raffeal is great at misdirection and leading you down a false path....
Comment by raphaelle2 on Oct 20, 2022 11:30am
No this is not what I am saying: Vale announced that they have put in place with Eneva a 5 year supply guaranted of nat gas, which will start in 2024, for all their pellets furnaces. What are they going to do in addition until 2029, I dont know ????? except, according to their own statement evaluate biochar... May be also evaluate pelletizing at small scale using the 900kw  PYR torch which ...more

I should also add this: Vale ( if I remember correctly) was asking, at the beginning for a 3 MW torch. Which PYR does not have. This would have a significant impact on capital/processing costs. So hopefully this extra delay will help the development of more powerful units. GLTA

Agreed ScienceFirst! These bashers (Sorrenson, Raphaelle2, Tamaracktop, etc.) feed off each other to spread nothing but FUD in relation to any articles and information that speak the truth about Pyrogenesis! And we all know Pyrogenesis has the patent for plasma in Iron Ore Pellitization! Here is the reference to an article in the Mining Journal from October 28/2021, confirming they are using ...more

What a marvelous story!!! So you beleive that Vale is  using plasma for pelettization based on this old  Oct 2021 NewsPaper,   while their plasma torch was being built in Montral in 2022.. ( before the first FAT,) and is still not installed in Brazil, awaiting the SAT test later this year ???  ( Read yr journal  again carefully. It does not say this at all. Your ...more

HAHAA BB, my poor little thing! If you could only tell me how this research paper, done using a home made little 30 kW  Hydrogen plasma ( with carbon electrodes) bear any relations with our main subject! ( By the way I know this research team quite well, and have even met one of the author several years ago in Florida for an International HT Conference). No offense, but may I suggest that ...more
