Technical Question FOR ALL ..Bashers and pumper weigh in

There is much discussion of plasma versus gas etc

In the iron pellets there is not a targeted mega hot required such as chemical destruction or powder

I dont think electric heat will ever work but  if you want to be electrical why would you choose plasma for a long term solution. ?

2 meg  Plasma is  70% efficient according to P Carabin at a compnay callled Pyrogenesis and cost $275K per torch per year in spares according to Peter Pascali .CEO of same so we can call those good numbers.

Resistance heaters are 100% efficient , Do not have anodes burning away. The can be up to  scaled to massive size and can supply constant heat across the furnace.   You can also achieve temperatures north of  1600c with standard materials . Well above with speciality .

They like the plasma are as clean as the electircal grid supplying.   I do not think electricity is the solution for pellets why would you pick a heat source 30% less efficient  with spare costs and NOx emmissions

The whole pellet system is going to be changed as furnaces life out but cant see plasma now or ever

Serious question... Might explain zero contracts in over a decade and no one using in pellets despite 40 plus years of research

But of course..basher , hater.. shorter ..evil.  but but but

Sorrenson. Are you a metallurgical engineer or do you have any experience in any type of industrial process engineering?? There's such a huge amount of variables to consider when trying to achieve an on-grade end product. Are you an assay technician?? These people also know that eliminating contaminates that may result from insufficient temperatures and fluxing may also play a factor in ...more

Sorrenson and Tamarack can you please also provide us with a little information on auxiliary equipment required when burning different types of fuels? I'll give you a little head start. Maybe just elaborate on soot blowers and this type of carbon cleaning that is required for sufficient heat transfer to eliminate failure of equipment from overheating and lack of combustion air flow. Also let ...more

And now for Raphaelle... I'll give you an easy one. State if you have any information regarding costs of maintaining auxiliary equipment as well as different types of tradesmen and maintenance individuals that are required on site at these facilities. Cost of anual maintenance shutdowns are also a big factor... hint hint.... specialized contractors for micro blasting etc you might also want to ...more

Nice questions Vuture90 to Sorrenson and Raphaelle2.   Their behaviors (posting many times per day, weeks after weeks, downplaying everything, no matter the subject) are ones of shorts.   They're teaming up all together, but each have a different angle of attack.   - Sorrenson has chosen to play FUD on the source of energy (natural gas, etc ...) - Raphaelle2 ...more

ScienceFirst..... you hit the nail on the head perfectly!! The cocktail these people are constantly mixing is the need to DOWNPLAY every accomplishment pyrogenesis has made. These people seem to leave out the coefficient of starting at the bottom to make it to the top in all their formulas. That's why These bashers will never amount to anything. They will remain sitting naked with each other ...more

To all the fans of sorrenson and the other 2 cucks... we all know who they are. Notice how no one is answering the questions I asked?? You know why? Cause they have no fuc*ken clue what I'm talking about... why is this?! Because they have no fuc*ken clue what they are talking about... maybe sorrenson is taking a crash course on google right now on maintenance, project, and shutdown ...more

Wow!  Is this your best Sorrenson?  That's full of holes and so superficial! Are you trying to establish yourself a credibility? Ouf!!! Sorrenson, Resistance electric heating would probably do the job...after proper eng/ scale-up. BUT it would be a total waste of $ and worst, moving against the Green Steel revolution. In 10 years all the blast furnaces presently in use will be shutdown, to be replaced by the DRI ( Direct Reduced Iron) technology. In preparation for this, ALL investment on existing iron ore pellets plants will have ...more

Oh I know the system as we see today is a dinosaur but these idiots pumping Plasma Plasma  wont accept that so shut them up with electricity calculations
Comment by Vulture90 on Oct 27, 2022 2:44pm
Here's a really easy electrical calculation for you Sorrenson... let's see if you can fill in the blank without the help of google. E=IxR.... I=E/R... what the next one R=?\?...... your turn!!! Good job at answering my previous questions... you must've been really good at exams throughout your life. Just skip the hard questions, that'll give me enough for a solid c- and a passing ...more
