Interesting

5. Bear Raids
In a "bear raid", a player takes a short position in a stock and then issues negative or alarming comments on the stock (referred to as a "short attack" or “stock bashing”), which are meant to induce shareholders to panic out of their positions, thereby lowering the price of the stock. The intention of the player is then to close their short positions at much lower prices for a profit, even if the negative information they shared was inaccurate or exaggerated.

Market manipulation may involve techniques including: Spreading false or misleading information about a company;

“Poop and scoop” occurs when a small group of informed people attempts to drive down a stock's price by spreading false information, rumors, and otherwise damaging information. They spread “poop” so they can then buy or "scoop" the stock at a lower price. They can purchase the stock at bargain prices if they're successful because the overall marketplace will have sold off the security and this causes the price to fall dramatically.

Stock manipulators are not always powerful people or institutions. Anyone with a web-connected device could potentially illegally manipulate the price of a stock by simply spreading false or misleading information about that business on an online message board, in a chat room, on social media or even with a video posted to YouTube.

Gathered from different sources, enjoy.

A bear raid can be done by spreading negative rumors about the target firm,[2] which puts downward pressure on the share price. This is typically considered a form of securities fraud. Alternatively, traders could take on large short positions themselves, manipulating the price with the large volume of selling,[3] making the strategy self-perpetuating

And this is why you don't sell your shares when an iron ire giant like Rio Tinto confirms it needs your plasma torches to meet emissions goals, and they are currently in the final testing phase. Listening to random people in here who admit they don't own the stock, telling you to sell a hundred times a day, are not here because they are worried about YOUR money.  You better believe ...more
