I think the point was the shorts havn''t gone up dramatically in the last many mths., in fact  they have gone down. I have no idea what you are talking about.  Really whose conclusions should be dismissed .

Apparently it's you who's a bit confused.  A declining short position in this case means there are fewer left to cover. Shorter have bought 200,000 shares to close out their positions
