Buxter, What is unrealistic about those posts? Are you from Canada or from Norway? Are you in denial as to what is happening with Quebec and the ROC? You are blind and live in la la land if you don't see this or else you are just plain ignorant. You might be right but the consequences for Quebec will be existencial. Not one single dime will be ever invested in Quebec from outside of Quebec. And it might be that it will set not only international investors in rage, but also inside investors in Canada. Quebec is becoming a banana republic equal to Venezuela, North Korea, etc...  After this the government can just take your land and ...more

You are right about investor rage and that is a moot point. I keep coming back to the very unique position of Quebec being in the drivers seat. Quebec gets billions a year from the ROC, with a substantial portion coming from AB. The transfer payments are part of the Canadian Constitiution, basically a charter of human rights and freedoms. Why would Quebec care about other investor countries when ...more
