Crawford

Lot to ponder here that's for sure. I think it might be a while before Crawford can get up his nerve to tap another equity financing having diminished his reputation somewhat.

Quite the drop from its recent high of well over $9.50 to $6.34. Why it was even faster than a Jackie Robinson running the bases.

Always thought Crawford  was too quick to do a financing when the share price had some torque, and that he was more interested in getting the cream off the top ahead of the investors who stuck with him over the years. I realize there is a fine balance to this circus act but clearly Crawford left himself wide open for a mean right hook.
But it's nice to know that the share price can send a message but more importantly it can be heeded.

In my last post, I said there was lots of things to ponder. For instance Crawford may have pulled the plug on the ATM too soon, by perhaps a day. If he had waited, just a little longer he may have been OK. Debt ceiling issue had by then, mostly been resolved and he would have been able to gauge the positive impact of that on the share price. Then with one variable removed he could assess things ...more

SH used to allow video links.  Haven't seen any in a while so I guess they got rid of that clutter.  However, I'd certainly be tempted to post a link to Sinatra's All or Nothing at All. I shudder to think what your spouse, if you have one, must go through living with someone who is always, relentlessly right.

I think Carlito is a woman maybe. A dominating woman maybe. She feels put upon by the males around this zoo.

Think conjunction of the planets here Carlito! Yes, there was QIPT's unpopular equity raise on top of a very important debt ceiling issue . There are many straws in the sheaf. These two items piled, as it were, on top of one another sent the share price straight down. The debt ceiling issue and possible default was all the talk on CNBC. Do you really think this doesn't resonate with ...more

One has to have some appreciation of the number of shares that were soaked up by "value investors," eagerly buying from the sellers mostly on the "down-tick." To me it looked like absolute panic...at least on the sell side. That alone would have carried the day for Crawford if he has waited. .  There are parallels between  QIPT & GSI  in that the share price ...more

Frgus wrtote "if he had only waited." With a bunch of pissssed off influencial investors looking you in the face, threatening to sell as the S/P was falling like a knife, waiting was not an option. Crawford made the right choice.  The ATM was a mistake pure and simple as that.   Good thing you aren't the CEO.  GLTA

If anyone invests based on the debt ceiling drama/theatre which goes on everytime the issue comes up, should rethink their investing strategy..  Smart money took advantage of those who didn't see through the hysteria which is nothing more than political posturing.. baseless BS to say the least.. :-/

Well it had a happy ending from bi- partisan support. Something we have not seen for a long time, But macro issues do have and influence on markets by which you can get your chocolate Sunday with the cherry on top! I think the little extra, you get to sweeten the deal is called "the glicken" in Yiddish.
