1st time they ever announced voting results. Did Greg get more no votes in prior years?

Damn!  They approved the incentive plan despite me voting my massive number of shares against! /s

Even though this got approved the 45% voting against has got to serve as a wakeup call for management.
Comment by westcoastlogger on Mar 28, 2024 3:28pm
I imagine the 45% would be a wake-up call of sorts but nevertheless I threw my semi-substantial holdings vote behind the status quo. I like management because the 3 or 4 haters that hang around don't, but I'm a contrarian and I believe everyone has a right to make as much money as allowed. I said in a post before that when shareholders have had enough of the incentives they will speak ...more

Oh, come on, Logger.  Their compensation is obscene.  And the number of shares voted against the plan is a shocker.  Very, very unusual.  Ergo, it's safe to say their pay is way off. Not tha they are alone - corporate exec. greed is off the charts in N.A.
Comment by westcoastlogger on Mar 30, 2024 4:07pm
Well Griz I gotta ask you. Would you say no to it?? If you had an offer on your house and someone else stepped up and said I'll give you more than that would you say your good conscience just wouldn't allow it?? Its just human nature. You would be a fool to turn it down. Probably next year the vote here will be no, but until then, democracy rules.
Comment by HatrikSeLaine on Mar 29, 2024 1:41pm
So close!   Congratulations to the voters for taking a stand.  If we're here one year from now let's block the incentive plan in earnest next time.
Comment by HatrikSeLaine on Mar 29, 2024 1:44pm
As my old hockey coaches used to say, "we'll get 'em next year".

Overpaid execs are pricing themselves out of a job.   If Quipt is acquired the execs salaries are large duplicate costs that can be eliminated.
Comment by ramman1 on Mar 31, 2024 9:11am
A couple of observation points in  reading posts from the sidelines. (1)  Iscfa ,I think,is precisely correct,in his post . A sale of the company saves those large duplicate costs and exec salaries are no longer an issue. Do we hear that $ 7.30 figure ,for a sale that I heard and posted on ??.--(2) If the executive salaries are such a devisive area as shown by the recent vote , why were ...more

Get over yourself Ramman. No one is hanging on your every reccomendation of when to buy or sell here. I don't listen to analysts recommendations that don't own any shares, and I pay no attention to some poster or basher that offers their one-sided advice.
Comment by ramman1 on Mar 31, 2024 10:44am
Well my friend, I allways look at both sides of a coin.-----  Tell me, when I have I ever said this company does not provide excellent service to the clients?? ,tell me one time. ---  As far as the share price, the company is fully valued in the $ 5.85- $ 6.30 area ,as I have said and proved to you many times. --I  would not be calling that bashing, its reality . Does not matter ...more
Comment by westcoastlogger on Mar 31, 2024 10:59am
And I've said too many times to count to the bashing crowd that always hung around here offering their one-sided wisdom. Buy some damn shares and hold those damn shares and vote in the damn vote and change things then if you don't like it!! Everything else is just bashing rhetoric that means nothing but we always have people here that insist on just being a nuisance.

Sharp guy like yourself Logger:: OOPS: I may have gone a little prematurely silly , would take note over at GSI,of the investors LG conference Apr 9. Could be something one could have a look at ,while we wait here only on  (qipt) for  the current situation and stagnation  to unfold.-- We really don't know how long uncertainly here presents itself . We do know .''high to ...more

As far as timng goes, I've been voting against the compensation elements of AGM's for most of my companies for years.  It's scandalous.  Not saying I have a solution, because a company has to make their positions attractive to quality hires.  However, boards are significantly to blame for rubber stamping the absurdities that have led to this grotesque salary inflation ...more
Comment by HatrikSeLaine on Mar 31, 2024 4:52pm
Well said and it is borderline criminal what the average executive and/or Board member makes in Comoensation in particular based against the Earnings of the average employee in the Company which is a ratio that has to appear for all trades on US exchanges.  Ratios of 400x the earnings of the median employee is not uncommon and there are a lot of games played at high levels in Compensation ...more

Problem here is two fold. (1)  I agree somwhat with  Logger Boy. If a management of a company can get X amount of dollars, and compensation , all above board, why not go for it ,and  put the scenario forward. It did not seem to be an issue with bagholders  when the share price was $9. --(2)  Where were the bagholders in past years, voting on a company incentive package based ...more
Comment by Moemoney42 on Mar 31, 2024 8:25pm
The problem with pay packages is, as long as the company is increasing profits and FCF and the share price is moving up the pay is justified.. its when the stock continues to fall or languish that it becomes an issue and rightfully so.. Logjam's comment about a house sale being comparable is idiotic.. selling your house compare even remotely to running a public company with shareholders and ...more
