The more I look at this, this looks like momentum driven algorithmic trading program from US funds.  The relentless buying of any dips and done through anonymous suggests that.   Some of these algos have revenue growth, earnings growth and rising consensus analysts estimates, upward sloping technical moving averages, etc.  Quarterhill has all of these in the quarter so the trade ...more

I have done well with my initial position in this, just haven't decided whether to add at this level or not. The hesitation is not about the possibility of it going higher but rather the possibility of it going lower for exactly that reason of "lumpiness" with respect to earnings.....but I guess its those big lumps that will eventually dictate our value.

I have done very well because I trade this stock.  I am up over 10X returns with this approach even though the stock hasn't done much.   Technically, I like the way this looks here, there is no bad news event on the horizon as Apple appeal won't occur for a while and next quarter results aren't until end of February.  So lots of time and space to run, but it is always ...more

Hi Cabbie... v_guerriero's explanation makes sense - but for me it's hard to tell.  Lot's of ways to cloud movements. We have strength but I started trading in and out this year as well - at least for part of my holdings.  It's been a rough year of disruption but nice to see some restauration of confidence, and always having a few wildcards in the back pocket (apple ...more

Sometimes it pays to be a little conservative. When we purchased International Road Dynamics there were a lot of complainers saying we paid to much, myself included. Ird is starting to look pretty good these days. Selling Viziya for a tidy profit shored up the balance sheet nicely. Eventually they will buy something, being a patient shareholder can often be tough.
