Just one more thing I may say about the short position and WHY for some it means nothing while to others it is a very important tool! Knowing the numbers TELLS YOU THE possible DIRECTION SINCE SHORTS COVER AT THE LOWS! Knowing that eliminates the guess work and worry of WHY the stock is doing what it IS DOING and can BANG give you an advantage! How many of you bought at $2.49???? none of you ...more

Cabbie is the single most important and helpful poster on this board so if you want to offer compelling differing views, that's fine, but treat him with respect. I'm also not a fan of technical analysis....it's a waste of time IMO - at best it's a self-fulfilling prophecy which adds ...more

Technical analysis is everything. Technical analysis is not for everyone.  I guess that's what some of us count on. GLE

Technical analysis is fine for large and medium cap stocks that have decent volume. But for low volume small cap stocks that are less than $5 per share and have limited fund ownership, the value of technical analysis is questionable. I believe Quarterhill remains a news driven and quarterly results driven stock until the share price hits at least $5.

News can move a stock up or down.  100% agreed News has been good and no problem with financials. Curious, apart from the Apple judgement. What types of news do you think would move this stock? I'm happy to sit and wait.  I have a 5 year hold on this stock and will accumulate.   Best thing, it pays you to wait.  Yield ~2%.  Can't get that in the bank. GLE  ...more

My view in order of impact would be: 1) A purchase offer by a third party for some or all of Wilan's license portfolio. I think likelihood of all of Wilan being sold is low but it is conceivable that some licenses could be sold. 2) A material tuck-in ITS purchase for $30 million ...more
