Ignore at your own peril

Those who only want to hear from people who have the same opinion as they do are always ill informed.
The fact is, the Federal HIghway Administration in the USA already has the technologies to weigh, identify defects, identify the vehicle owner, and even identify the driver of the vehicle, without the need for a traffic stop.  And just over 500 km to the west of IRD is a company called IIS Smart Roadside has been selling optical recognition systems for a number of years.  You should check out all the things they monitor for.
More than 2 years ago, Ontario began testing and implementing a system from Drivewyze (Edmonton and Dallas) which checks safety compliance and weight information on trucks to allow them to bypass weigh and inspection stations.  The Drivewyze system was already in use in 2019 in 42 states and 2 provinces.  Likely more now.    IRD is way behind the curve.  Don't count on this excitement to amount to much revenue.

Oh yes, I looked into it.  It is an honour system for truckers.  I am sure that will work.  LOL. I am sure that regulators assume that all a driver needs is an app.  As a consumer, when I see tires that are deflated on large trucks and broken and ripped tires strewn across highways.... I always thought, wow, if only truckers had an app that they self disclosed information ...more

If you looked into it, then you are deliberately lying to the board.  Neither IIS Smart Roadside nor Drivewyze are honour system applications.  Smart Roadside is the most comprehensive roadside safety platform available for commercial vehicle enforcement.     Drivewyze is employed by governments in 44 states and 2, with preclear weigh station bypass being one of its main ...more

What about SICK AB and Vitronics... they are the global/european leaders in this industry... if you are trying to make people on this discussion Board aware of other competition, why not include the real players... all the Hardware and Smart AI decoding is licenced from SICK and Vitronics... other service providers just put their own logo on it and call the pig a princess.

Justhalffull, the bit about Drivewyze is interesting. I see it's a subsidiary of Intellegent Imaging Systems (IIS). Looks like its main value would be in helping old-style drive-in weigh stations operate more efficiently. Not clear it's terribly relevant to IRD but I wish IRD owned that app rather than IIS. I admit, I didn't know about Drivewyze and now I'm more knowledgable about ...more

I am here to express my complete disgust for the management of Quarterhill.  I once owned a lot of Wilan stock, but sold most of it several years ago after watching this mismanagement team line their pockets as the shares lost their value.  I still held a fairly small bit in the hopes that the Apple case would be settled, but now I am not sure they are even capable of doing that.  ...more

Comfort or a solution? Which do you seek? While you may feel you have a valid reason, you should leave feelings out of investment and move on, stop living in the past, shake off the bad karma  and go on... if the tied does turn then you will look stupid and if doesn't and we are all wrong and you are right, then I can honestly say you did your best to warn us. So thanks for that... but ...more

I wish you success after selling the bulk of your shares after your disgust  of management. Just hope you did not follow other disgusted shareholders to greener pastures  with your money and go to KNR. .90 cents to purchase today.
Comment by Justhalffull on Jun 30, 2021 10:38am
Nope, no KNE for me.

I think you did come pumping JRV, which hasn't done so well since you recommended it.  The other one someone else pumped is CMMC, which is also well below where the recommendation is.   KNR is a disaster and people that followed WiLander there are down 80%.  That was a very easy short setup.   I did share two recommendations two months ago to look at Indigo and Roots as ...more

Yes, still like JRV.  Have a big bunch I hold longer term, and another that I trade.  Have done quite well with it lately.  They start building the Idaho mine tomorrow, and will soon no uncle financing so expecting a big move soon.
