Quarterhill is the acquirer. They are taking on the risk of the acquisition. Rarely does the acquirer stock price go up on news of a transaction of this size. If will take a few quarters to prove the acquisition is a good fit until the market starts to give it a premium. We shall see

That being said, for months now many here have being crying that Quarterhill has not made any significant purchases, as if it would be the big answer to all our prayers....well here you have it, as this is a significant enough purchase to add $$$ to annual sales and profits, imho  I like the financing split to keep our powder dry for ongoing business as usual plus looking for ...more

Bob, I like to think that the ETC acquisition is a major step forward in killing one of the QTRH alligators: execution of a significant promised deliverable.

The risk of steady revenue? or the 10-12 year contracts? or maybe the robust peline?  coupeld with backlogs too boot for borrowing 70 mill..... come on whaler I thought you knew better

I mean the risk of not realizing synergies or the company not being a good fit etc. Acquisitions are made to create value further than the current company can do. Sure they can acquire a company with the financial metrics noted but it will take 10 years to recoup the initial investment unless they can find synergies etc. Can be as simple as now quarterhill can bid on projects that now include ...more
