Someone private messaged me thanking for breaking the news.  Made a very important connection.

The connection they made is that the Motorola case and the iPhone case are connected by the same snapdragon chips.

That Qualcomm is behind the scenes and views that if Motorola settled so will Apple.

I think, untill we get news of settlement....... NOTHING has happened!  VERY ODD THAT WE DID NOT HEAR A WORD YET? You would think that Thursday, Friday and the weekend (4days) would haveve produced something? Why is there a delay when both parties agreed to settle? Fishy smell.......

Makes sense if they are resolving all key litigations at issue, including Apple.  Motorola and WiLan agreed to a price and now others will follow.   Also, remember that there are wireless renewals from the original 3G settlements.  Many other handset makers are unlicensed but did not go through litigation waiting to see how lead cases of Apple and Motorola played out.

No! You do not go to court, announce that both parties are ready and willing to settle! AND THAN START NEGOTIATING? Who does that?  Not buying that! If no news today or tomorrow, deal may be unraveling! Imho

Negotiating with the OTHER parties.  Not Motorola. Given the Most Favoured Nation Clause with Samsung, this is a complicated situation.

The court doc that v_g posted said there was an agreement in principle.  Now the deal is being papered.  I, personally, have no fear the deal is unravelling.
