Playing defense on margin call as QTRH price drops?
Some institutions do offer 50% margin loans on stocks under $3.
What if someone bought 200,000 QTRH at say $2.75, using $275,000 cash and a margin loan of $275,000, being 50% for the remaining $275,000 of the $550,000 cost?
Every penny drop in share price below $2.75 means a margin call of $1,000. If cash is not deposited by next day, the insitution can liquidate enough shares to cover the margin shortfall. The institution will do this at market price, often pushing the share price even lower.

What an a-hope scare tactic. None of the major institutions offer this accountable for 90% of volume on the stock. The small players have some exceptions but it is on a security specific basis. It also typically has single name limit exposure and much higher margin rates. I am not aware of a single institution that allows QTRH trading on margin.

QTRH appears at #708 on IROC's most recent list of reduced margin stocks. Contact National Bank and see if they will deliver your long awaited margin loan. Consider this as a gift, or free money. Hurry before the price goes up.

Think about all of the tax loss advantages from selling you BB stock? You could have tax free gains on your QTRH. It must be hard being a long term BB holder. All your neighbours buying new cars, cottages and chalets while you have to change your own tires on your 2001 Honda Accord. I bet you vote NDP now too because the rich are too rich now.

One has to wonder why the highest short interest showed up on the stock in over a year and people spending time spewing this garbage and suggesting POS stocks to invest in on this Board. Getting nervous boys? You will PAY for going short a DEEP VALUE name like this.

I do not know any one that is short. I am not. There are many, many deep value stocks out there. "Buy before the halt" is the garbage.

A halt can come any time. If Motorola or Apple send through a signed settlement document mid day, it will be halted. If not, it will be a morning news release. I think a mid day halt will be more impactful as it will get wide press for the stock. And then you will eat your words.
