So.... do we know who the "likely source" is???

Quarterhill Inc. (f/k/a Wi-Lan Inc.) has announced the acquisition of a portfolio of patents described as relating to “wired connectivity functionality, including USB-C technologies used in various applications such as desktop and laptop computers, tablets, mobile phones, gaming consoles, and smart TVs”. Assignment records recently made public indicate the likely source of the patents—per Quarterhill, a “publicly-traded leader in semiconductor technologies”—as well as the subsidiary recipients.

Maak- To me, it does not matter, My opinion is Go with the times or get left behind. The patents acquired appear to semiconductors . We live in world of technology fueled by semis & there is world shortage .  I maintain that Wilan has built up massive semiconductor patents with worlds leading semi corporations. I maintain my view , that Wilan  is correct in patents re semis ...more

Regardless of source the key words I read into today's announcement are " Wired connectivity functionality, including USB-C technologies used in various applications." These patents could be essential patents needed to function various applications. Again I believe Wilan has  taken stratigic step re Patent Licensing and best is yet to come. A little patience and our ITS ...more
