Couldn't agree more with you Joey regarding Gillberry's performance at the AGM.  Fortunately, I believe that QTRH will survive it.  The key issue is margins.  Investors need to better understand the margin curve on the ITS businesses and I hope Kidd can do a good job at helping investors in that regard.  Since 2021/YTD 2022, IRD/ETC have announced contracts valued ...more

Margins are always important but I wouldn't see them as the key issue. ETC is in a battle for tech and reputation supremacy in tolling. I would rather they give up a little (not everything, but a little) in terms of margin (especially in the ramp-up phase) as part of establishing themselves as the top-quality tech tolling / ITS name. When you look at it in that light the win of the EZ Pass IO ...more

I think, mostly, that you want to see long term EBITDA margins to be healthy. However, short term, margins can get compressed for various reasons that don't reflect the long term value. If some are willing to sell the stock in those instances, then it becomes cheap entry points for others. As to the date of reporting, imo, it's a nothing burger. I do think that with the Apple settlement ...more

"gut feel" is all you are left with. Naz rockets 3% in a low volume short covering rally. Quarterhill is flat on below average volume. Even the QTRH shorts aren't rocked by the Nasdaq short covering rally today.  That says something. Just imagine if ITS earnings are negative in Q1.

And "Just imagine" is all you're left with. Actually, there's plenty of evidence that things are falling beautifully into place at Quarterhill ITS. But it's not hard evidence in the sense that, say, a 30% increase in EPS would be. Bret Kidd telling us that there's never been a better time to be in ITS. I would call that an enticing piece of evidence. But it leaves the ...more

Yes, from BK's seat there has never been a better time.   He just got paid a boatload in less than 2 years after being the CEO for ETC.  A Harvard MBA with Texas charm was the final piece of the renoflip to get a company like Quarterhill to overpay.  As the CEO of a private equity operating firm that had a massive return, he likely was paid $5M at exit.  And now he gets ...more

Hey v_g, this is quite a list. I think it's a good exercise for someone who believes in Quarterhill to respond to all of your points . . . point by point. I've copied your post.  (By the way, your subsequent posts about disappointing costs news for Wilan? My answer is that not every case works out. We knew bad news on that front was coming. And only 4 Wilan cases? Didn't they ...more

There is a lot a great information for QTRH shareholders in your post mrmoribund. If I might, I'd like to bring a little additional perspective. Litigation vs. negotiation - over the years Wilan has prided itself on securing most licenses without significant litigation.  As far as current cases are concerned, purchasers of Wilan will assess the range of potetial litigation outcomes and ...more

The round trip back to pre-Apple announcement is already complete this morning at 2.18.   I told you all this would happen.  Cannacord told you this was now fully valued when it was 2.50. The fools on this board thought this could be a $3+ stock. Now it should match all the ITS firms that have already hit 52 weeks and multi year lows.   Itiris has $30M cash and a market ...more
