It is very simple.  There will be a new chair of the Board.   This gives the chair free reign and license to dole out options plans and compensation as they see fit.   No other board member owns any significant stock position. So he buys 200k worth of shares to then issue himself hundreds of thousands of options per year. That is an awesome return of investment.  And

I wouldn't be so hard on our friend VG. He did, after all, warn us when the shares were recently bouncing around $2.25. I like the Quarterhill story. I'm sticking with it. But could it go lower in the short term? Especially given the look of the market? Possible.

The Dusty Rusty put is now over.   Blackout period is in effect until the next quarterly release is made available in November.   Implication:  No stock buyback can be announced.  No more insider buying (or selling). Especially with the markets looking quite dangerous here, no buyback to stop the bleeding will be painful indeed.
