After 1,563 days in litigation… another loss

Judge dismisses the case against Advanced Micro Devices brought forward by WiLan's subsidiary Aquila Innovations.  

Another major tech firm escapes another lawsuit.  How much will WiLan now owe AMD for bringing forward this nuisance lawsuit? 

They just can't catch a break.  

So tell me what the chaff is worth again when nothing can stand up in court?

Hold on there little guy - housekeeping.  There were 3 actions against AMD, clearly as part of a 3-pronged assertion strategy.  Collabo and Aquila patents did not survive PTAB and CAFC appeals were unsuccessful (known since 4/22).  It was Wilan that moved for dismisal.  A simlar motion can be expected on the Collabo action.  However, in the 3rd action, Polaris prevailed at ...more
